This refresher course is designed for individuals who already hold the RIIWHS202D or RIIWHS202E qualification and need to renew their competency in entering and working in confined spaces to maintain current certification and comply with workplace safety requirements.
This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to enter and work in confined spaces in the resources and infrastructure industries.
It applies to those working in operational roles. They generally work under supervision to undertake a prescribed range of functions involving known routines and procedures and take responsibility for the quality of work outcomes.
Licensing, legislative and certification requirements that apply to this unit can vary between states, territories and industry sectors. Users must check requirements with relevant body before applying the unit.

Entry Requirements
- To be eligible for this refresher course, we require:
- A clear copy of your photo identification or Drivers Licence;
- A previous Statement of Attainment issued by anTo be eligible for this refresher course, we require:

- A previous Statement of Attainment issued by an RTO
- RTO listing the Enter and work in confined spaces competency that is less than 5 years old or lists the unit RIIWHS202D Enter and Work in Confined Spaces and/or MSMPER205 Enter confined space.
- Please note wallet cards will not be accepted.
- You can obtain a VET Transcript from your USI student portal if you do not have access to your current Statement of Attainment. (Forgot your USI? / Unique Student Identifier)
To proceed with this course, students will be required to:
- Pass a language, literacy, and numeracy assessment (LLN)
If the student is required to complete the full course as they do not meet the refresher requirements, an additional assessment fee will apply for the practical training and assessment component which can be delivered at our training facility.

Credit Transfer/ RPL
If you have completed some of this course before or you have completed some units that appear in this course or you have good experience in this type of work, then you can apply for Recognition of Prior Learning or Credit Transfer. You don’t have to take up this option but it’s available upon request. Evidence will be required.
